Christmas is for many people associated with a lot of Danish traditions and in Denmark Christmas angels and gnomes are a big part of our Christmas decorations. Many choose to decorate with classic colors with green, red, white, gold and silver. Others are more courageous or less traditional, so you can easily play with colours, shapes and different Christmas decorations. It is also great to decorate with dannebrog flags and garlands. Rhinstone Christmas trees
Our handmade rhinestone Christmas trees are very popular. Each individual tree is unique in its composition of stone and colors. For the same reason, we also experience that it is really fast when we get new Christmas trees in rhinestones. So it’s a bit first come, if you find a personal favourite. The Christmas trees are a great way to decorate for Christmas and they create a cozy Christmas atmosphere when the light is reflected in the fine rhinestones. Many of the stones are still from the 1940s, but are combined with newer stones. They are perfect for hostess gifts and advent gifts.
Read the wonderful story about the rhinestones’ Christmas trees here. The beautiful vintage Christmas trees – are handmade old rhinestones. Most are unique, but there may be individual models, especially in the clear stones, of which there are several. The Christmas trees are hand-assembled in an area of northern Bohemia in the Czech Republic. The area formed the headquarters for jewelry and crystal production before World War II. The many workshops were run by the German minority, who were expelled after the war – because they supported Germany. The Czech Republic was subsequently occupied by the Soviet Union for 40 years and remained untouched throughout that period. It was not until the fall of the wall that the large stocks of jewellery components and rhinestones were again traded.
These are still the stones that are still used to collect the Christmas trees, but they are gradually mixed with newer stones. This means that most of the stones are from the 30-40’s and the plate they are placed on is a brooch component. Each employee can make between 2-3 trees in a day, so it takes time with the craft.
