About us – Who is Remix by Sophie?
Remix by Sofie is more than just a store – it is a universe and a concept where aesthetics, quality and responsibility go hand in hand. Our mission is to create a shopping environment where you can find the most unique and hand-picked products, while taking responsibility for the environment and the people who produce them.
We believe that beautiful things should have a story – a story about craftsmanship, sustainability and ethics. That’s why we prioritize products that are handmade, where every detail is created with care and passion. Our ceramics and glass are always made from human hands, which not only ensures a high quality, but also supports ethical production and traditional craft techniques.
We strive to minimise the gap between production and consumption, which is why we focus on products produced in Europe or from producers who work sustainably and benefit the world’s poorest communities. We say no to mass production from China and yes to quality, responsibility and durability.
Where and how our products are produced means something to us – and a lot more.
In a changing world, and with everything happening around us, we at Remix by Sofie believe that taking responsibility is more important than ever. Responsibility for how and where our products come into being – and for the choices we make as a company every day. We can all do something, and we think about it every day.
This is also one of the reasons why we chose not to negotiate products that are currently produced in the USA or China. Not because we couldn’t, but because we don’t want to compromise on what we truly believe is important right now.
We believe that production closer to Denmark strengthens the European economy, reduces transport and CO2 emissions and promotes more sustainable and responsible production forms. Yes, we could easily sell even more of our own wine glasses if they were made in China rather than the Czech Republic – but that would be at the expense of something more important. That’s why we choose quality, craftsmanship and thoughtfulness instead of quick wins.
We work primarily with brands and suppliers who produce in Europe under proper conditions, or in smaller productions in developing countries where the craftsmanship and workplaces really make a difference. For example, our beautiful pillowcases from Afroart are made by families in Guatemala, and much of our felt decorations are created in Nepal – all under Fairttrade-like conditions and with great respect for both people and the environment.
We have a single supplier that produces in China – but only because they have documentation on both good working conditions and environmental considerations, and because they are simply the best in their field.
For us, it’s not just about business – it’s about attitude. It’s about using your platform to support what you believe in. And we believe in conscious choices and choices that go beyond the bottom line. Both for our planet, for Europe – and for the people who create with their hands the things we love to share with you.

When selecting our range, we prioritise fair trade to support fair working conditions, upcycling and recycling to give materials new life and reduce waste, as well as ecology and sustainable production methods. to protect our planet.

Did you know that Remix by Sofie works actively to reduce waste?
We recycle all our cardboard boxes and packaging materials, which has led to the fact that we do not even need commercial containers – we can manage with the common waste solutions for private households.
We recycle all boxes we receive items in – either for shipping or as a protective filling for the parcels we send. We cut up the cardboard boxes and use them as cushioning. We never buy packaging chips as we recycle them as we receive them. We recycle plastic, paper and cardboard on a large scale, and when the City of Copenhagen visited us, they said that they had never seen a store recycle so much packaging.
We are incredibly proud of this, as we want to make a real difference to the environment and minimize unnecessary waste.
When you shop at Remix by Sofie, you are supporting a small, independent company rather than a large chain. We primarily deal with manufacturers in Europe, but also collaborate in India, where craftsmanship and traditions create unique products.
