Klippan Yllefabrik
Klippan Yllefabrik – Quality, tradition and natural materials since 1879
Klippan Yllefabrik is one of Sweden’s most traditional textile brands, founded in 1879 in the town of Klippan in Skåne. Since the beginning, their philosophy has been simple: to work in harmony with nature and create high-quality textiles with the least possible impact on the environment. That’s why Klippan always uses 100% natural materials, and the entire production – from raw wool to finished carpet – takes place in-house, ensuring full traceability and a remarkable quality.
Today, Klippan is run by the fourth and fifth generations, and the combination of historic craftsmanship and modern responsibility is the brand’s DNA. The production unit is located in Klippan’s own factory in Riga, where wool is spun, dyed, woven and brushed with great care. The result is rugs and blankets that last a lifetime – both in terms of warmth, durability and design.
Klippan continuously strives to optimise their environmental efforts. Among other things, they have reduced their energy consumption per plaid by over 50% in five years and use recycled plastic in their packaging. They choose natural and often organic materials wherever possible, and their carpets are currently produced from wool from around 300,000 sheep a year.
With over 140 years of experience, Klippan is known for its distinctive patterns, warm colours and high quality. They create designs that are both timeless, functional and beautiful – and that bring both comfort and a genuine sense of craftsmanship into the home.
In short: A plaid from Klippan is a sustainable choice, made with pride, tradition and a deep responsibility for nature.
