The intricate “Strawberry Thief” with its mischievous birds – juicy berries dangling from their beaks – is inspired by one of the most iconic works of the 19th century by the great master of the Arts and Crafts Movement, William Morris (183496). He based his design on the trotters he saw stealing strawberries from the grounds of Kelmscott Manor, his home in Oxfordshire.
