The mat is made of natural coconut fibers, also known as coir, which helps to wipe off the shoes and remove the worst dirt before entering. The back is non-slip, so the mat is better attached.

It's an indoor doormat. If used outside, it should be covered and protected from rain and moisture. Coconut fibers are a natural material and cannot stand being left wet for long periods of time, as the fibers degrade over time. The mat may also shed slightly during the first period, which is completely normal.
