The aim is to make the craft visible in areas where the craft is one of the most important sources of income. Afroart’s own design team helps to develop both the design, but also the development of tools, creating new areas of work and at the same time helping the traditional crafts survive. Here the focus is on not wearing down or misusing the earth’s resources. So here is an extra focus on recycling materials. Things are handmade and preferably locally, this is to create life in the cities and not collect the work in larger cities. Afroart imports through fair trade organisations, which ensure that they trade directly from small artisans.
