A really nice fair trade pillowcase from A World of Craft with modern cross stitch embroidery in beautiful plum and orange shades.

The front is decorated with handmade embroidery, while the back is plain and finished with a zipper. It provides a calm, graphic expression, where the craftsmanship is allowed to fill without being too embellished.

The pillowcase is manufactured in northern Bangladesh through an organization that works purposefully to create local jobs and ensure better opportunities for the people who produce the textiles. This means that you not only get a beautiful pillowcase, but also a product with a clear history and a production where fair trade and craftsmanship are an important part of the process.

The handmade embroidery also means that there may be slight variations from cover to cover. This is precisely part of the special feature of handmade textiles – each piece gets its own little touch.

Use the pillowcase on the sofa, armchair or on the bed, alone or together with other pillows in different colors and structures.

Dimensions: 30 x 50 cm
Material: 100% organic cotton – Colour: Plum and orange
Manufactured in: Bangladesh
Wash: 40 degrees

Note: The pillowcase is sold without an inner cushion.

Description
At Afroart, they want to collaborate with local craftsmen and artists from countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. The aim is to make the craft visible in areas where the craft is one of the most important sources of income. Afroart’s own design team helps to develop both the design, but also the development of tools, creating new areas of work and at the same time helping the traditional crafts survive. Here the focus is on not wearing down or misusing the earth’s resources. So here is an extra focus on recycling materials. Things are handmade and preferably locally, this is to create life in the cities and not collect the work in larger cities. Afroart imports through fair trade organisations, which ensure that they trade directly from small artisans. The following countries cooperate with Bangladesh, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Ecuador, Ivory Coast, El Salvador, Philippines, Ghana, Guatemala, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Morocco, Mexico, Mongolia, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Senegal, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Tanzania, Vietnam.
