A unique pillowcase filled with atmosphere and craftsmanship
The pattern depicts fig cactus in yellow flowerpots, surrounded by small birds – printed with block prints and hand-embroidered with Nakshi Kantha technique.
The fine, dense stitches cover the entire surface and give the cover both texture and depth.

Nakshi Kantha is a traditional embroidery technique from Bangladesh, originally used to strengthen and repair textiles beautifully.
Each cover is handmade and produced under Fair Trade conditions – a piece of genuine textile art for your home.

HANDMADE & FAIR TRADE

Description
At Afroart, they want to collaborate with local craftsmen and artists from countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. The aim is to make the craft visible in areas where the craft is one of the most important sources of income. Afroart’s own design team helps to develop both the design, but also the development of tools, creating new areas of work and at the same time helping the traditional crafts survive. Here the focus is on not wearing down or misusing the earth’s resources. So here is an extra focus on recycling materials. Things are handmade and preferably locally, this is to create life in the cities and not collect the work in larger cities. Afroart imports through fair trade organisations, which ensure that they trade directly from small artisans. The following countries cooperate with Bangladesh, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Ecuador, Ivory Coast, El Salvador, Philippines, Ghana, Guatemala, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Morocco, Mexico, Mongolia, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Senegal, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Tanzania, Vietnam.
