Cart in rattan – Afroart

A beautiful hanging basket from Afroart that is perfect for hanging from the ceiling in the kitchen, bathroom or utility room. The basket consists of three baskets in different sizes that hang under each other and provide both practical storage and a warm, natural expression in the home.

Use it for fruit and vegetables in the kitchen, small towels in the bathroom, yarn, toys or other small things you would like to have collected in a decorative way. It is especially nice in rooms where you want to take advantage of the height and at the same time add some handmade charm.

The basket is made of rattan – a natural, strong and flexible material that originates from fast-growing palm trees. Rattan is known for its light weight and durability, making it particularly suitable for braided baskets and storage.

At the same time, Rattan is a more sustainable choice of material, as the plant grows quickly and can be harvested without necessarily destroying the plant itself. This makes rattan an obvious choice if you want to decorate your home with natural materials and considerations.

The hanging basket is handmade in Bangladesh. Since it is a handmade product in natural material, the color, shape and small details will vary slightly from basket to basket – it is part of the charm.

Note: Handmade product – colours and expressions may vary from basket to basket.

Description
At Afroart, they want to collaborate with local craftsmen and artists from countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America. The aim is to make the craft visible in areas where the craft is one of the most important sources of income. Afroart’s own design team helps to develop both the design, but also the development of tools, creating new areas of work and at the same time helping the traditional crafts survive. Here the focus is on not wearing down or misusing the earth’s resources. So here is an extra focus on recycling materials. Things are handmade and preferably locally, this is to create life in the cities and not collect the work in larger cities. Afroart imports through fair trade organisations, which ensure that they trade directly from small artisans. The following countries cooperate with Bangladesh, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Ecuador, Ivory Coast, El Salvador, Philippines, Ghana, Guatemala, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Morocco, Mexico, Mongolia, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Senegal, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Tanzania, Vietnam.
