Frazada pillowcase 60 x 60 cm – hand-woven unique from Peru

A decorative Frazada pillowcase designed by Marie Dittmer and made in Peru from traditional Andean frazada. Frazada is a hand-woven wool rug from the Andes mountains, originally used to protect against the cold in the Peruvian highlands.

Each pillowcase is cut from an original frazada and is therefore a truly unique item. Colours, patterns and small variations tell the story of the craftsmanship, culture and traditions that make up the cushions. Each pillowcase is handmade and unique. Variations in colour, pattern and dimensions are a natural part of traditional craftsmanship.

The pillowcase is made of 100% new wool and has a plain-coloured back in marzipan, a beautiful light/off-white shade. The characteristic colours of the frazada weaves are traditionally made with natural pigments from plants, seeds and insects, among others scald lice.

The large size of 60 x 60 cm makes the pillowcase perfect as an eye-catcher on the sofa, on the bed or in a cosy lounge area. It adds warmth, colour and personality, and can both stand alone or be combined with other cushions for a more vibrant and personal expression.
