This bath mat from SUITE702’s Martens & Martens collection combines art, colours and high quality in one design. The unique feature of the collection is that the front and back have different colors, which gives a vibrant and dynamic expression in the bathroom. The woven strip design creates a graphic look that is both modern and playful.
The collection is created in collaboration with the renowned Dutch artist and designer Karel Martens and is inspired by his art project “Colors on the Beach”, developed for the city of Le Havre. The project is based on the colorful beach houses along the coast and works with stripes in different widths and colors – an expression that is repeated in the textiles in this collection.
The bath mat measures 50 x 80 cm and is made of 100% organic combed cotton terry in an extra strong quality of 1000 g/m2. The combed cotton provides a dense and compact structure that feels both soft and luxurious underfoot, while being durable and absorbent.
All fabrics from SUITE702 are produced in Europe and GOTS certified, ensuring that both materials and production meet strict requirements for ecology, environmental considerations and responsible working conditions.
Wash the bath mat before use
The SUITE702 bath mats are woven in a dense and powerful quality of 1000 GSM. Once the bath mat has been folded during transport and storage, the terrycloth loops can be pressed flat along the folds. It can cause the underlying weave or color from the back to temporarily become visible as a light stripe or unevenness. It's not a mistake in the weave.
After the first wash, the cotton fibers will open up and stand up again. The bath mat will be more full-bodied and uniform, and the fold lines will usually disappear.
We always recommend that you wash the bath mat before using it for the first time. This is not only due to possible folds from packing and transport, but also because the sink helps the cotton fibres to open up and improves the absorbent capacity of the bath mat.

The brand’s name is inspired by John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s famous “Bed-In for Peace” in 1969, which took place in Suite 702 at the Hilton Hotel in Amsterdam. The story symbolises peace, presence and breaks from a busy world – something the SUITE702 still strives to bring into modern homes. The philosophy is simple: log out a little more and leave room for peace, comfort and well-being.
