Matches from Archivist Gallery – Water Lilies
A decorative matchbox from the Archivist Gallery featuring a beautiful motif of lush green dandelion and pink flowers. The box contains the text “Safety Matches” in gold foil, which gives the subject an extra elegant and almost nostalgic look.
The motif was designed by Wanderlust Paper Co. and has a calm, botanical and poetic expression that makes the box nice to have lying forward – both for everyday life and as a small decorative detail in the home.
Archivist Gallery’s matchboxes are much more than just practical matches. They are small design objects, created to be placed next to the candles, on the coffee table, on the fireplace shelf, in the kitchen or together with coffee table books and beautiful design books.
The special feature of the Archivist Gallery is their classic letterpress print. The motif is not just printed flat on paper – it is pressed into the paper on old-fashioned printing presses and gives the box a tactile surface with depth, structure and character. On this box, the gold foil also adds a beautiful and exclusive play to the motif.
The box is ideal as a hostess gift, advent gift, calendar gift or as a little extra along with a candle, soap or other personal gift. It is also incredibly nice to have lying around during the Christmas months along with glow, light and small decorations.
Archivist Gallery works with consideration for materials and sustainability. The paper is FSC certified and the box is packed in home compostable NatureFlexTM – a plastic-free film made from wood pulp from responsibly managed forests. This means that the packaging around the box is not traditional plastic.
The box contains approximately 125 matches and combines function, craftsmanship and decorative design in the finest way.

Description
Matches from the Archivist Gallery
Matches from the Archivist Gallery are far more than just something practical for lighting a candle. The iconic boxes are small design objects in themselves – created with beautiful illustrations, colorful typography and the special tactile feel that characterizes classic letterpress printing. Archivist Gallery is a British family-owned brand with a great love for paper, print and good craftsmanship. Their matchboxes are printed in the UK and made with a focus on both quality and aesthetics. The boxes are decorative enough to lie on the coffee table, next to the candles, in the bathroom, in the kitchen or together with beautiful coffee table books and design books. The large matches make it easy to light candles, block candles, scented candles, lanterns, fireplaces or bonfires – without burning your fingers. At the same time, the boxes are so beautiful that they also function as a small gift in themselves. Use them as a hostess gift, advent gift, calendar gift, almond gift or as a little extra along with a candle, soap, vase or other nice gift. It’s such an everyday item that you really always need – just in a much more beautiful version. At Remix by Sofie you will find Archivist Gallery matches in many different designs, colours and expressions. Some are graphic and humorous, others botanical, poetic or vintage-inspired – but common to them all is that they do something as simple as light a candle a little more special.
